Welcome to Dots-n-Spots!

Welcome to Dots-n-Spots! This blog has been in the making for quite a while and I’m excited to finally join the blogging world. Having been inspired by two of my fellow co-workers, {the lovely Melissa and Nicole at Lesson Plan SOS} I thought I’d jump in and hopefully inspire someone out there as I have been inspired by all the amazing blogs I visit EVERY DAY!!!! Without further ado, I’d like to introduce myself…

My name is Becky and I have been teaching 4th grade for 8 years. I was very lucky to have been given this grade because it truly was my 1st choice in grade levels. 4th graders are the BEST of both worlds between primary and intermediate. They still want to please the teacher and enjoy school {for the most part 😉 } but they have an independence that allows you as their teacher to delve deeper into their learning. GO 4th GRADE!!!Why Dots-n-Spots? Well, I love Polka Dots and have decorated my entire classroom with a polka dot theme… take a peek:

Secondly, I’m the proud owner {parent} of an adorable, crazy, and unpredictable dalmatian Lillie. 🙂 She recently had surgery on her broken foot so I have had A LOT of time planning my blog while she recovers. Luckily she’s doing MUCH better and will back to her rascally ways before I know it.

Meet {my broken} Lillie:

Thanks for stopping by! I look forward to sharing a lot of ideas and can’t wait to get to know everyone!

Where did you get your calendar set in this post or did you create it yourself with your Cricut? I love it and think it would be perfect for my PreK classroom.

Hi Megan! Do you mean the titltes “Our Schedule” and “News”? I made those on my cricut using the Mickey Font Cartridge. The calendar months are from a set I bought at a teacher store. Hope that helps! 🙂

Great blog you have here but I was curious if you knew of any community forums that cover the same topics discussed here?
I’d really love to be a part of online community where I can get feedback from other experienced individuals that share the same interest. If you have any recommendations, please let me know. Thank you!
