Get wild in 4th grade!

by becky on July 14, 2011

So, I took a break today from staining my deck (it’s never going to end) and I visited my newly cleaned classroom. I love decorating my classroom but always get overwhelmed when I come back to school and everything is everywhere except where it is supposed to be. Luckily,  now that’s it’s clean, that means I can go in more and get it set up. Like I said in my first post, my whole classroom is polka dots. I love polka dots, don’t get me wrong, and I have no urge to change my theme… BUT, I have to admit, I LOVE the look of polka dots and zebra. Stinkin cute. So, ever since ISAT’s last year (state test) I have been planning how I’m going to add some fun zebra to my classroom. I created my Zebra Zone file. Included in it are

  • 6 colored name plates for desks or for classroom labels (in pink, orange, yellow, green, blue, and purple)
  • Calendar numbers 1-31
  • 6- blank calendar circles
  • 6- “no school” calendar circles
  • 7-Headings: Reading, Math, Writing, Social Studies, Science, Specials, Lunch/Recess
  • 7-Blank headings

I can’t wait to use all them in my classroom this year. All I was able to use last year was my calendar number, but the kids complimented them. They can always tell the difference between my personally made decorations vs. store bought. 🙂
